Board Members (in alphabetical order):
Eileen Atkinson. Eileen recently retired and is enjoying experimenting with a native plant garden at her cottage. She brought her gardening knowledge with her when she emigrated from England but gradually acquired an appreciation of Canada’s native plants and their importance to Canada’s birds and pollinators. Now she loves talking to people about native plants and helps to spread the word about the invasive aliens threatening our parks and natural areas.

Miriam Henriques, from North York, is a Past President of NANPS who has taken a sabbatical from NANPS and now returns to the Board. She is a public school teacher, and has developed an extensive native plant garden at her school. Educating people about native plants and encouraging people to join NANPS are activities Miriam enjoys.

Howard Meadd from Scarborough, is very knowledgeable about native plants and how to identify and cultivate them. He is also returning from a sabbatical. He is involved in the seed exchange and actively attends the Seedy Saturdays in the GTA areas.
John Oyston. John was brought up in an English gardening family. His main areas of interests are woody plants and things that grow in full sun. In 2005 he graduated from the University of Guelph with an Ontario Diploma in Horticulture. That same year he purchased a 101 acre property in Northumberland County, where he planted a three acre prairie and an arboretum of over 100 native Ontario trees and shrubs.Oak Hills Farm Prairie and Arboretum won a NANPS Garden Award in 2009. John joined the NANPS Board the following year.
Jenn South. Jenn is an avid native plants enthusiast who grows them for sale in her spare time. She is currently studying environmental science at University of Western Ontario and runs a camp from her hobby farm in the summer called "ecokids-connecting kids with nature".
Sue Stephenson
Gerda Werkele is a Professor and Planning Program Coordinator in the Faculty of Environmental Studies with York University. She has an interest and wants to learn more about native plants. She maintains a native garden on campus as well as gardens at home and at her cottage.
